Where to Find Key Names for API

The field names listed under admin > field management are not the same names used for the soap api e.g. in field management, the field is "First" however, in API, the field is "FirstName" - which is not listed.

I also created custom key/values; however, I cant access from API. I get error: unknown field

Under admin > field management, there is a button called "export fields". This downloads an excel file that contains the api field name plus others. Also note, api field names are case sensative
