What is the best way to utilize segments in existing engagement programs?

Our team is interested in testing emails by segments in engagement programs. We are currently running muliptle engagement programs and adding content by single emails.  We would like to test content performance by state and only want to send certain emails to certain leads by state.  Can this be done by adding programs to engagement streams versus single emails?

Does anyone have some advice on how their organization is using segementations in engagement programs or suggestions of best practices?

Thank you.

Yes and Yes.

The question is really "What are you using Segmentations for?" They can be used to generate faster lists or to run dynamic content. So yes, if you had a Segmentation=US State, Segments=50 states+Default, then you could tell your Programs to include people only by those Segments; same with the Engagagement kickstarter.

Hi Josh, thank you for your reply.  To answer your question about what we are trying to use segmentations for:

We have engagement programs currently running that we filter leads to based on their market segment.  We have some content that we would like to send to these leads in certain engagement programs with the differentiating factor being their state.  I am trying to understand how to segment the list within an engagement program to send state specific content, when that engagement program is already established and running.

In adding content to streams, it gives the option to add an email or program.  Should I create a program and add that to the engagement program stream?

Thank you!
