What is the best way to identify duplicates created by Sales

Hello everyone

Without a solution to that take care of duplicates at source in SFDC  such as RingLead or LeanData, what is the best way to identify duplicate that have been created by the sales team in SFDC?

Marketo has the filter called "Duplicate filed" and you can select for options

  • Email Address
  • Full Name
  • Last Name
  • Updated At

Marketo will provide the duplicates but in the results displayed you may not see the duplicated records. The key point in identifying duplicates is also to understand the root cause such as Sales creating duplicates in SFDC without checking if the records exist or not. As we know, Marketo does not dedup when a record is created in SFDC.

Just looking at duplicates without a time frame can be an issue but the lead creation date and the SFDC creation date can vary tremendously.

Any suggestions on best practices would be great

Thanks

Axel

Hi Axel,

What version of Salesforce do you use? You should be able to use a matching rule to identify duplicated in Salesforce.
