What happens when unsubscribed contacts are deleted?

What happens when unsibscribed leads are deleted from the Marketo database?

E.g. If a lead has unsubscribed and been deleted in Marketo and down the line is synced over from CRM will Marketo still recognize it as being unsubscribed?

Yes. These unsubscribes are referred as durable unsubscribes in Marketo. Please refer to this discussion on same topic.
