Question

Web hook response mapping

Hi,

I have been using web hooks for some time now. But I wanted to get some confirmation about response mapping for a web hook.

Can a web hook response be mapped to 'ANY' field in Marketo?

I understand it should not be able to update a 'formula' field.

But how about,

Boolean

Currency

Date

Datetime

Email

Float

Integer

Percent

Phone

Score

String

Text Area

Url

Any restrictions, limitations or gotchas?

Does the data returned by the web hook service gets 'encoded' / formatted in some way?

For example newline characters or html tags returned as response.

Can anyone from Marketo respond?  @Kenny Elkington , Justin Cooperman )

Thanks

Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,

I do not think field type is an issue. But there are some systems fields that cannot be modified by Webhooks (nor by any other way). e.g. Date created, date updated, ...

And also some specific fields fields, such as scoring or unsubscribe that have limitations with regards on how they can be updated.

Email has limitations IIRC.
