Wait steps within campaigns in nurture streams

I've probably read this before but can't find the answer...

If I want to add a program into my stream I obviously will put it at the top so it's the next cast (ex every 2 weeks) to go out. But if that campaign that I added has multiple emails (ex 4 emails) separated by wait steps (ex a week in between)... how will this work timing-wise?

Would it be like this:

wk 1 - email 1
wk2 - email 2
wk3 - email 3 AND next email in cast
wk4 - email 4

Or something else?

If there are multiple emails in the flow of a campaign that is in a stream, the system will run the lead through that flow AND run any casts as scheduled.

That is a good question! I have not run into this myself - but what if you included a "change engagement program cadence" in the flow step of the smart campaign in the program you add to your stream. See below.

Not sure if this would work, but it might be worth testing.
