Wait step duration in engagement stream?

A wait step in a program will function independently from the streams cadence. For example:

- Stream cadence is set to daily every day

- In the Stream, there is a program with a wait step of 2 days

- In the Stream, there is an email that follows the program

The Stream will cast to run program's campaign, which will wait for 2 days. The next day, the Stream will perform another cast to the email. The following day the program's wait step will finish.

The stream cast will trigger the flow and any action inside of that will be honored independently of the stream cadence.  The lead may receive subsequent casts and receive emails...etc. according to what is triggered by the cast, but any existing flows that it is part of will not be interrupted.

I find it helpful to add dates in a scenario like this:

Assumptions:

1. Cast fires monthly on the 1 day of the month;
2. Wait step duration - 45 days
3. Step after wait - add to list A.

1 Jan - cast 1 fires. Lead enters 45 days wait step

1 Feb - cast 2 fires. Lead has another 14 days to wait.

15 Feb - Wait step ends and lead is added to list A.

1 Mar - cast 3 fires

Here's what I'm trying to attain:

Stream Cadence= Monthly

Email 1

Wait Step- 90 days

Email 2

Wait Step- 90 days

Email 3

I want a new group of Leads to enter the stream every month, receive the first email immediately, and then receive the second email 3 months later. Does this seem accurate?  Thank you to everyone for your input thus far!
