Using Salesforce Custom Fields as Tokens

For person fields, the tokens are referenced using Lead in front.  For example -   "Lead.First Name".

For company fields, the tokens are referenced using Company in front.  For example -  "Company.Name".

For Salesforce custom fields, I'm not sure of the naming convention.  What would replace "Lead" in the "Lead.First Name" token?  I'm trying to use a field called Relationship Manager Email but I'm not sure what the token version would use where the "Lead."  is in the previous example.  Is there a way to determine what the token value would be for a field?

The field is located on the SFDC Custom Field tab.  It is also associated with the Account.

Thanks for your help

Deborah, please move the thread to Products and someone will answer it there. "Champions" is for discussions of the Champs program itself, not product support.

Hi Deborah,

If the SFDC fields are lead or contact fields, they will be lead.tokens. If the SFDC fields are account fields, they will be company. tokens.

when you are using the token insertion wizard in Marketo (for example when editing a text zone in an email or landing page), Marketo will help you find out, though.

Hi @Grégoire Michel! What about fields on Custom SFDC objects or Opportunities? I synced the custom object but the token insertion wizard is not offering any options as if it can't see those fields. Is it possible to use fields on Custom SFDC objects as tokens in a Marketo email?

Thanks!

We have a bunch of custom objects in our Microsoft Dynamics instance and the only way we have been able to use them as tokens in a Marketo email is by setting up program script tokens that use velocity script to reference the custom objects. It's a bit cumbersome, but it works. Perhaps there is a better way in SFDC since that sync is more robust than the Microsoft Dynamics one.
