Using a/b test email in smart list triggers

Does anyone know how to use an email with an a/b test attached in a smart list filter? For example, I want to use the "Email is Delivered" trigger, but the email doesn't show up. I assume this is because of the a/b test, but I'm not sure if there's a way to make it work or not.

Yup, it's approved. Nothing different than I normally do outside of the addition of an a/b test. I know that adding the test creates hidden variants with unique names, which I suspect is why it's not working. Just not sure if there's any way to still use the triggers with an a/b test or not.

So it turns out the problem was the email program needed to be approved, in addition to the email itself.
