Use any lookup field containing user info to assign tasks created from Marketo into SFDC

When creating a task in Marketo, we can only assign it to a specific user or to the lead owner.

We should be able to use any lookup field from SFDC that contains a user ID (so any SFDC lookup(user) field) to set the task, be that field on lead, contact or account.

Hi Greg,

How do you currently get around this? We are currently grappling with this too.

Hi Erica,

Unfortunately, the only workarounds are not really elegant nor convenient:

Very long change owner or sync to SFDC flow steps with tens of choices "if field [New Owner Name] is [JOhn Doe] assign to [John Doe]"

Or in SFDC, using assignment rules and a trigger to force assignmetn rules to execute on lead update ( )

Hi Greg,

That was what I thought but was hoping you had some magic . We have a big turnover of Inside Sales staff and I didn't want to hard-code their names as it will be a maintenance nightmare. Ugh.
