Unsubscribed field being changed in SFDC

We have an "Unsubscribed" boolean field in Marketo that is mapped to SFDC (leads and contacts), but whenever people unsubscribe from our Preference Centre page, Marketo reflects the value as TRUE, but when it syncs to Salesforce, a 'change data value' takes place, where 'true' is changed to FALSE...

Does anyone know what's causing this?

Did you check to make sure that Marketo has permission to write to that field in Salesforce?

Unsubscribed=Email Opt Out in SFDC.

There are some other threads on this, but Kristen is correct.
