Trigger ''Clicks link in email" - registered, not working

Hi There,

I have a trigger set up for two things in an event (Roadshow) program; 'Clicks link in email' or 'Fills out form'. Change status is to registered.

The trigger is working for Fills out form but not clicks link.

This is a retrospective thing for the clicks link.

When I run a smart list on 'Clicks link' I get 4 leads.

I then changed the trigger to work on people in that list.... It still doesn't change those leads to registered.

Can someone please help? I have set this up in a number of different ways and I cannot seem to add the 'Clicks link' group to the overall event program. It's driving me crazy!

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah, have you tried the link both with and without the http:// protocol? I know there are some quirks here, and it won't register the click on the link if it's written improperly.

I have done the 'clicks link in email' trigger with specifying the link in constraint but it did not work for me.

Also tried to edit the link with and without the , and edited campaign to run lead through flow every time. Don't know what is going on!!...

Hi Noopur,

The best way to figure out what link to enter into your trigger (Orange Lightning Bolt) is to look at the activity log for a lead that has a Clicked Link activity logged.  This will show you what is actually getting recorded, and what the trigger will be reacting to.  The link you have in your email won't always be exactly what the trigger is seeing.

Alternately, you can use the "contains" option in the trigger, and shorten your link to a couple keywords.  For instance:

Link Is MyDomain.com/MyLandingPage.html  This trigger would not react if the link that is getting logged is just www.MyDomain.com/MyLandingPage.html.

If you used Link "contains" MyLandingPage.html though, that trigger would react to both of the above urls.  Does that make sense?

If you're still not able to make this work after trying the suggestions above, feel free to open a case with our support.

Are both of these triggers being used in the same smart campaign? If so, do you have any additional filters in the smart list with the triggers?
