Trigger campaign based on unique date

We are wanting to set up a trigger campaign to send an email to a client contact in our system based on their contract renewal date. Is there a way to set up this workflow in Marketo? Any tips are welcome!

There are threads on renewal dates and opps.

The idea is that when you receive a Won Opp, you push the lead into a Wait step  using the in future before or something like that. Then it looks at the date field token or waits until Date-180days for example.

@Ande Kempf​, do you have the contract renewal date as an available MKTO date field?

Couldn't you can create filters based on the date "in future" and a value of "30 days" or something along those lines?

Not yet -  but we can create that field.  Basically we are needing to contact all clients when their contract renewal date is up and notify them of system changes.  We are just aiming to make this an automated process.
