Transparency on Website for Cookie Usage

Wondering if anyone has good examples of what they use on their website in order to notify their prospects of their use of cookies/tracking code? If anyone has a great example of how they use this within their website pages and/or emails they send, would you please share? thanks!

We reference a Privacy Policy on our website, which has info about cookies and tracking.  You can see the policy at conductor.com/about/privacy.

Try a UK site. It will alert you that they may collect cookies. Check out dailymirror

British Telecom implements a very clever solution: http://www.bt.com/

The dialog goes away after a certain amount of time, assuming user accepted the policy.
Users can then manage their preferences.

Sherry, the answer to your question is yes. 

It is important to highlight it does not matter where the company and/or website is located.
The law applies to the jurisdiction where the recipient is located.

Here is what we have.  It seems that sections 2 & 3 cover it but it's a lot less in depth than what I've read here...

Use of Data

The "cookies" section is appropriate if users must acknowledge and confirm the acceptance of all terms and conditions, usually through a popup, checkbox or a yes/no dropdown list.

That would be an opt-in, complying with the legislation.
