Training Event Follow Up - Engagement vs Addt'l Emails

Hello,

On the fence whether our training follow up emails should be an engagement or set up additional emails within the program.

We hold the same training event multiple times throughout the year, if a person attends we have a workflow in CRM Dynamics that kicks off a series of 7 emails. I'd like to get the workflow going in Marketo for the email flexibility & reporting capabilities.

My thought process is if the training follow up is set up as an engagement anybody marked as attended just gets added to the training engagement program and will get the email series.

Is this a good avenue to go, or should I just include the extra emails as part of the follow up and add wait periods within the individual training program?

Please do a search for setting up engagements.

As long as your cadence is Regular, that is once a week or X times every week, then Engagement will likely work best for this. Nice and automated. Just fill in the criteria:

Entry, Exit, Cadence, Content

If you do something weird like Send Day 0, then 2 days later, then 7 days, then 3 days, you need a different smart campaign with wait steps. It's messy but it'll work.
