Tracking visitors with redirect page

We want to have a URL (page X) that immediately redirects to our homepage in order to track visitors coming from a specific place. Even though page X and our homepage both have the Marketo munchkin tracking code, it appears that Marketo isn't able to track visitors to page X because of the redirect. For example, if a lead visits page X and gets redirected to our home page, Marketo will only show that the lead visited our homepage, NOT page X.

I contacted support and there doesn't seem to be a workaround, but wanted to check here and see if anyone else has encountered this problem (and found a solution). Thanks!

A possbily easier way than a redirect page would be to set up a campaign to track people who visite from the external source via the "Visits Webpage" trigger.

Select your page you have them land on as the Web Page to track.

You can then add the constraint of "Referrer" and then enter your URL in the blank, or if you have multiuple links that you are tracking to the one page, you might want to go the route of  Referrer "Contains".

You can have the smart campaign add these people to a list within the program and you'll have a real-time view of who's visited from that web page.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with this process? Are you using the redirect page to capture a certain link click from another page?

Yes exactly. So we can see who is coming to us from an external source.

Hi, I am having the same issue, but the page I want to track referrs to is not on our site -- it is for a Go To Webinar. Any other work arounds?
