Tracking Leads from Advertising Campaign

Hello,

I am going to be running a paid adevertising campaign using a few vendors. I want to track where people are coming from but they're being directed to a landing page that doesn't have a form on it. The landing page, however, has a link to our demo request form, and a link to a WP. So I would have to track the lead from ad click, to landing page, to either the demo request form or WP form and then capture where they came from at that point. Is this possible? Doing this in the LEAST technical way would be great as I'm trying to not get our web guys involved.

Hey Sara,
It seems like a good idea to use UTMs to track your lead sources. There are some great threads on the community like this one about how to do that: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000PfTyAAK

Hopefully that's helpful to you!

So I just did the whole hidden field thing and approved the form. Went to test it and it doesn't seem to be updating in SF. I was poking around in field management to make sure I don't have settings to not let this field override and I couldn't find it. Any troubleshooting tips?

As a start I would triage tracking by going to the landing page as if you clicked it from the ad. That is to say, enter the UTM data (or test data) in the URL and then fill out your form. Wait for the data sync to occur to Marketo, and then double-check it in SFDC.

Were you wondering where in Field Managment you'd find field update blocks?

I was able to get it :)

I think I had either the URL Parameter wrong or something with the visibility rules.

Thanks for your help!
