Tracking Customer Advocacy Programs

Anyone out there doing anything interesting to track customer advocacy activities, such as monitoring reference calls and sending thank you cards, gifts, swag, etc.? I'm thinking about creating a new program channel with statuses our customers could move in and out of based on those types of activities.

I've done these in Salesforce.com but not in Marketo.

Curious if anyone else has...

One of the best customer advocacy programs that I've ever seen is Marketo's (truly)!  We're certainly using it as a model as we build out nacent advocacy program.  It would be very interesting to know if / how they use Marketo to manage the program or if they are using a third party app.
