Total number of emails sent a year or month

Is there any way to pull a report on all of the emails that you've sent in a month or a year?  The previous email tool that I used to use gives me a tall of the total number of emails that we used to send out.  Or do I have to create a campaign email performance or email performance for that?

The Email Performance report in Analytics provides this, broken down by the name  of the specific email (including the campaign prepend).  You can filter by "Sent Date" and either specify custom dates, or use "This Month", "Last Month" etc.

Thanks Steve!  That's what I ended up doing.  It just takes forever to pull and I had to include some archived emails for the annual one.
