Tokens for Users/Lead Owners

Hello,

I am wondering if I can create a token for a user's location (office address) for an email signature. The field exists in Salesforce, but it does not look like it is available to Marketo. Is this correct?

If I want to make this happen, do I need to create a custom field on the user for office address? Will Marketo recognize the custom field?

Any help/insight would be great!

Hi Erica,

Marketo user in SFDC may not have permission to access this field. Ask your SFDC admin to allow the the Marketo user (SFDC user used by Marketo) to be able to access this field.

After some time, this field will be created in Marketo.

Do not create this a custom field in Marketo directly thinking to map it to SFDC field later. That will not work unless Marketo support helps you.

Hope this helps

Hi Erica,

It's not possible to create new User tokens, but if you created a custom field on the Lead and Contact objects, and you used a workflow to populate the User's Address into that field for all the records they own, then you could use the token for the custom Lead/Contact field to accomplish the same thing.

Thank you for your insight! Would I create the workflow on the User or on the Lead/Contact level?

If it's not too much to ask, could you give me an example of what this workflow would look like?

Hi Erica,

You'd want to talk to your SFDC admin/support for this.  They'll be much better equipped to help you get it set up.
