Time it takes to merge not even SFDC linked data leads

Anyone else feel like the merging of records within Marketo is taking forever?  I could understand that if the records were ones that were connected to the CRM it would take a bit of time of complete since it is doing the work in both systems - however, I have merged leads that ONLY exist in the MKTO database and it still takes forever.

Perhaps an idea for the Ideas area is to queue the merge so that if someone is trying to merge a lot of different records, they don't have to wait for the merge action to finish on the first set before moving to the second set of data.
