Text Version at Template Level

Is there any way to set text-only version text at the template level? I have a footer in my templates with a set of links that I have to "copy from html" for the text-only version on each individual email and then add in help text. Can this help text and formatting be set on the template level so this action doesn't have to be repeated?

No you cannot.

It's better to have your text and paste it into the Text section.

This is functionality that I would love to see.

This would be extremely helpful.  The current text version functionality is no good.
