Question

Sync ALL marketo emails to Salesforce activity

I want all emails sent to a lead, regardless of whether they're marketing/ product engagement emails or sales emails, to be stored in SF as activity.

Example:

Let's say I send users an email with the subject line "How to create a dashboard"

Will it be stored in SF activity with this subject, assuming I checked the Sales Insight sync checkbox for email delivered, sent, opened, clicked?

The native Salesforce sync is only able to create SF activity once per day, for each type of activity that Marketo can push across.

So yes, the email send will be logged as activity, the subject line will be "Was Sent Email: {subject}"

to do this, go to Admin > SFDC > Edit Sync Options

If you desired it all the time, you could push a Task after every email. However, doing this puts a strain on the SFDC sync and adds data to your SFDC that you may not want.

Sales can see ALL emails sent in the MSI window on SFDC if you've installed it.

sync options are checked (can't upload an image here for some reason) since last week but I still don't see any activity containing the email subject lines, any idea?

Hi Idan,

From my experience, it's in fact not such a good idea. It will saturate your SFDC storage (and buying more storage from SFDC is scandalously expensive) and create some many tasks that sales will 1/ soon stop looking at them and 2/ grumble about their own tasks being lost in the middle of the Marketo created ones.
