Suspending lead scoring for a particular lead status

Hi, we are introducting a new status for leads that were recycled but we would want them to continue to retain their original points, becasue there is an opportunity to close the deals in the next quarter. 
Is there a way to "suspend scoring" for the leads with "Sales dev" status so that they continue to be nurtured but are prevented from getting additional scores for any activity they do ?
