Survey Platform Integrations - not for survey questions; just unsubscribe status and participation interesting moments

I am looking to understand how/if other organizations integrate survey participation into Marketo.

 

Currently we use a third-party survey platform, but we are hoping to automatically have survey participation logged in Marketo via interesting moments, as well as have a two-way flow of unsubscribe data. For example, someone can unsubscribe via our survey platform, and those unsubscribes must be manually imported/update in Marketo. And when our survey team wants to send out a survey to our audience via the survey platform email distribution, they must manually check the unsubscribe lists in our CRM before distributing the survey....

 

Both of these seem like manual processes that should have a way to be automated...either via APIs, webhooks, etc. 

 

If anyone has any insights or suggestions to offer, they'd be greatly appreciated!

Well, you can't create Interesting Moments directly via API. So that's out. Custom Activities and/or Custom Objects, sure. You need to tell us what platform you're using to get a fuller answer.

We are currently using Qualtrics but evaluating other survey platforms as well.

SurveyMonkey has a well-thought-out Marketo integration. that works as advertised, as does Qualtrics.

 

Of course these integrations assume you want the survey data too, but they can be used for just "did they take a survey" and for lead fields.

 

Any survey service that has an outbound API (i.e. webhooks/event subscriptions) can be readily integrated using Marketo's REST API.
