Standardizing values in state and country fields

Hi,

Anyone have ideas on how to take all the different variations of the state and country field and standardize into a single value/format in mkto? I know you use a smart list to do this. But in the smart list do you have any recommendations on where to get all the variations from (eg california, ca, cali, etc) in order to set it to a single format (eg CA).

Maybe there is a module/plugin to do this?

    There are dozens of threads on this and I've written about this on developers.marketo.com/blog.

    Options

    • enforce the values you want on your Forms and in SFDC with picklists
    • To catch bad values, run a nightly batch to find the BAD values and then replace them with Good values.
      • you can do this in Marketo or CRM.
    • Or you can purchase a tool like RingLead or ReachForce, etc to do this for you. see launchpoint.
