Splitting First Name Last Name from one field into two?

Is there an automated function to split first and last names from one field into two within Marketo or as they come into the system from a form? We have several existing forms with only field and until we can get them updated, there is obviously a manual aspect to getting the data normalized. We also have various other systems that could input to us with one field instead of two.
