Smart Campaign - Active Leads per Flow Step?

Apologies upon apologies if this has been answered before - but I can't seem to find the correct query to give me the answer I need.

We have a large number of always-on Smart Campaigns running with multiple Flow steps and one thing I can seem to figure out is if there's a way to see the quantity of Leads that are active PER STEP?

Like if my Flow is 10 steps and I want to see how many people are currently in the Step 5 Wait or the Step 8 Email Send?

Hmm. What would it mean to be “active” in the Send Email step — except at the exact moment the email is going out?

Fair point - that is true.
I think it's more that from my Program setup I can see that there's say 300 people that are "active" in the program flow, but can't on a glance see what portion of the flow those 300 are in. 

Maybe I need to build out more Program Status "gates" per-se to gauge where people are in the flow.

Maybe not full-fledged statuses, but a PMCF that shows a sub-status can help!
