Should Sales Be Able to Opt Leads Into Nurture Campaigns?

Our sales team has requested that we create 30-60-90 day drip campaigns that they can opt prospects into at their discretion.  I know how this can be done tactically, but strategically,  I'm wondering if it makes sense.

Is anyone else currently doing anything like this?

Hey Ashley,

We believe that they should! Considering that they are the ones working the Lead, I think they should be able to do that. That being said, you will want to make sure you have a conversation about what happends to the Leads once they are put in the Nurture and once the Nurture is completed. Will they want an alert? Or maybe added to a Campaign? Or a task created to follow up? What will the Lead need to do to be kicked back to sales? Click a link? Gain a certain amount of points? Etc.

Communication will be key, but I think it is a worthwhile venture myself!
