SFDC Type IS NOT "Lead" - lead still got email, how?

I set a smartlist to include the "SFDC TYPE IS NOT LEAD" filter but one lead still managed to get the email.

How's this possible?

Is that Lead still not a Contact? I'm wondering if it snuck in because of a conversion at the wrong time.

Is it a dupe of a Contact somehow?
 

That is strange. What happens if you specify SFDC Type IS "Contact" ?

Nope, just a good 'ol lead.

When I also add IS CONTACT, then the person is no longer in the smartlist.

Very odd.

Check Marketo's and SFDC's record history. I wonder if this was formerly a Contact that was deleted in SFDC as a Contact and then resynced later, but somehow Marketo is seeing it wrong.
