SFDC Campaign Sync

Hi All, I am new to Marketo and working with SFDC campaign sync. If i create an email Campaign in Salesforce will the sync create a program (channel type Email) in Marketo?

Nope.  The Program/Campaign association is always set in Marketo.  You can create a new SFDC Campaign from Marketo but you cannot create a new Marketo program from SFDC.

Hi Ajay - just wanted to build on Steven's response above.  Some additional thoughts around the campaign sync are below:

  • You will want to ensure you have aligned your Marketo program channels with your SFDC campaign types.  This will help ensure the accuracy of your reporting. 
  • When you are syncing members of a Marketo program to a SFDC campaign, it's best to use the system level campaign sync to manage this process.  This removes the need to add the flow step into Marketo smart campaign to manage membership and ensure all members are synced!
