Set highest value for lead source to not update/change

Hi! We would like to be able to set the value of a lead source and not overwrite it, as we would like to assign leads to queues in SFDC via this field. We would like the status of 'trial request' to be the high value and once that status is reached, it willl not be changed. The blocking of fields in the admin panel doesn't offer that granularity. Is there any way to do this?

Hey Amanda, it isn't a great solution but could you have a data management campaign where if your status changes and the previous value is Trial Request, you would reset the value to Trial Request? Like I said, not ideal, but it should accomplish what you're looking for.

You can say If Lead Source=Trial Request, then do nothing, if NOT, then do something else.

You can also have SFDC do something similar.

Dory - thank you! that was my original thought on how to bypass it.

Josh - thank you! how would I set up a smart campaign to update any of the other lead source options since I have to specify a new value in the change data value box?
