Send Sample vs Send Sample Test

I've added an A/B test to an email asset and would like to send a sample of that version of the email. When I choose the "Send Sample Test" option, I just keep getting the champion, not the challenger.  Am I missing a step here?  Is there a different way to send out a sample of the challenger version of the email?

That is very strange. What type of test are you running (Subject Line, From or Whole Email)?

I have never had that problem. I was testing it to see if I could replicate only receiving one message, but each time I received both. Are you sending the sample test off of the menu on test or off the menu on the email?

Thanks for looking into it!  I tried sending it off of both, same result of just getting the champion.  

The email send went out this morning, and although the test was approved, a smart list filtering for leads who received the test variant returns no results.  I think there was something wrong with the setup, I've submitted a support ticket.

hmmm, I hope they get to the bottom of it! Let me know what they say. One thought that just came to my mind, did you check to see if other sample sends worked? It might help support diagnose the issue knowing whether the issue is across the board or just affecting one email.
