select field default value question

I have a form I created with a select field.  The first value in the pick list is Choose One.  I want to force the selection of a field value other than the first value of "Choose one" .  How do I do this?

You can probably leverage some custom JS to validate that selection was something different than the default.

It shows how to display one value but record another, you could leverage this to put in clean non-selections.

Isn't there a way within Marketo to easily accomplish this?  i.e. to use the initial value essentially as a label value, but require the user to choose one of the other values?  I thought that I had done this in the past.

You can do this checking the "Is Required" option. Go to edit Form, Select the Field you want to choose and under form properties, Checkmark the "Is required" field. Here's a screenshot -
