Segmentation by Account Owner

Hi there - 
We have a segmentation that is set up for our account owners and we used to use the "account owner is" filter. However, this filter is no longer usable in Marketo. I was wondering if anyone had a workaround to this? We use this segmentation when we are sending out emails on behalf of our sales team for the footer information. We cannot use "Lead Owner is" because our lead owners are not always the account owners.

Yes, you need to do this:
  1. create a new field on the Contact record called  "Account Owner Name"
  2. make this a formula field
  3. insert formula such that the TEXT name is placed here, NOT the User ID
  4. field will sync to Marketo

You should be able to create a formula field on the Contact table in Salesforce that returns the Account Owner, and use this field in your Marketo segmentation.

I'm sorry but I am relatively new to Salesforce. Can you explain what that means? Am I creating a new field in Salesforce that will automatically populate with the account owner name?
