Question

Scoring leads

When exactly does the scoring process begin?  When we have their email address?  Or does it begin when the contact is still anonymous and adds to it after capturing the email address?

Thanks.

Anonymous leads will be scored and the score does carry over when they become a known lead.  Leads become known in the system when we capture the email address.

Can you score someone without having a Salesforce campaign being set up/or that person in Salesforce?

Hi Sherin,

When a lead becomes known (when we capture their email address via form fill out, list upload etc.), the scoring process begins.

Thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

In fact, it is a little more sophisticated. The scoring is applied for the first time when the lead becomes known BUT it can be retroactive and assign some score based on activities that occurred when the lead was still anonymous, such as visited pages or clicks.
