Salesforce Sync Failure: Could not connect to host

My Salesforce Marketo sync suddenly stopped this morning. We are not having issues logging into SF and the login does not expire. Any ideas on where to look?

SFDC experienced some issues yesterday and it seems all their servers were affected.

SFDC sent out a notification regarding the use of "login.salesforce.com" and how this is to be discontinued.  I am having the same issue, I assume they are related.
