Salesforce sync disabled, but......

We have the Salesforce sync disabled when it comes to updating Contact and Lead information in our SF instance, but it appears that the sync is happening anyway.  Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks!

Hi Angelica,

Not sure if this was ever resolved for you but we're currently experiencing a similar issue: After disabling the Marketing/Salesforce sync in Marketo, it seems that Marketo is still trying to login Salesforce creating an error message in Salesforce. We disabled it around 10AM EDT today and since then, thousands login request from Marketo to Salesforce have been made, we can track that in the Salesforce login history.

Did anyone have the same issue and figure out how to resolve this?

If you have any Smart Campaigns (trigger or batch) running that use any of the SFDC flow steps (Sync Lead, Add to Campaign, Change Owner, etc), Marketo will attempt to make API calls to Salesforce for every lead that runs through the flow step.

Per Marketo Docs, flow steps should continue to work even if sync in disabled. Is this still correct?
