I have a list of qualified leads to import. Should I import it directly into Marketo or into Salesforce?

If I import into Marketo and the lead already is established in SF, will it cause any problems for the current lead owner? We have the round robin setup between our sales team.

Marketo will not change lead owner upon import. So long as there are not any flows that tell it to do so, you should be fine. I am a fan of always importing into Marketo for deduplication purposes.

I agree with Amelia, but I have one more bit to add. If you import it into Marketo, not only is the deduping better, but you can also add the acquisiton program, which is a field that only lives in Marketo and makes it easier to see where the lead originated. I insist on uploading every list through Marketo for those two reasons.
