Salesforce Activities - syncing all into Marketo, not just some

When I look in Marketo's Smart Lists filtering on "Activity is Updated" or "Activity was Logged", I see a fraction of the actual Activities in Salesforce. Many custom activities defined by our SF team are not flowing into Marketo.

What determines what SF Activities are synced into Marketo? And from other Community articles I am thinking that we can't sync in any custom fields, but I wanted to confirm that.

We could potentially duplicate this content in Marketo's Custom Activities, but that seems really unnecessary and time-consuming.

HI Phil,

Normally, all activities should sync, unless you have some limitations on which one the SFDC Sync user can "see".

With regards to the fields, only standard fields will sync, though, no custom ones.
