#'s in From Name - deliverability issues?

The marketing team want's to test a company hashtag in the from name versus some other more traditional options like our company's name or a persons name.

Does anyone know if this would be considered a red flag would lower our deliverability?

Hi John,

Just test it and let the community know. I never tried it, but I would be interested.

You should test it against a seed list that goes to several different providers. If you have a tool like litmus that'd be good.

Also, why would you do this? I could see this in a subject line, but why a from name?

Hey Josh thanks for the reply.

The video show's name has a hashtag in it ... like the #AskGaryVee show.

@John Westley split test it! It would be a super fun way to get the team excited about the results. You can use the Champion/Challenger feature as part of the Email Program to see which performs better. I just wrote a blog post discussing the results of a successful campaign we had.

I will also second @Josh Hill's recommendation to use Litmus to make sure it doesn't fail completely in sending.

@Allison we went with a full on email send program using the from line as the variable and opens as the winning criteria. I'll share the results.

Thanks for sharing your blog post. I'll check it out.
