Question

RSS + Operational emails?

Hi guys,

My blog has an RSS feed, and I would like for anyone who registers for my blog via the RSS form to receive an operational email thanking them (and linking to a few other things).

Any ideas how best to set this up?

Thanks!

Andrew

This sounds pretty basic.

Smart List = Filled out Form

Flow Action = Send Email

Unless, I'm missing some information that would be a huge caveat as to why the above logic wouldn't work.  For example, is your form not a Marketo form? If not, please share this kind of information.

Is there an easy RSS Marketo form? We've only been able to find the classic RSS forms that aren't built with Marketo integration

If your form is not a Marketo form, how is that form information being passed to Marketo?

You should get Digesto (or similar tool) to process RSS feeds to subscribers.

For your immediate need:

  • Fills Out Form
  • Send Follow Up Email

I would seriously question if you should use Operational Email here because most sign ups are email only for blogs. They opted in to the Blog Email, not some follow up advertisement. If the follow up is for double opt in, then sure. Otherwise, be very careful.

Do you think that one single "Thank you for following our blog, here are some other links you might be interested in" is too much?
