Ring Lead creating new leads when merging?

Has anyone experienced this?

I'm merging leads into contacts with RingLead.  I can see that they have successfully merged. But a new lead is created with a time stamp of the merge so my out come is I still have a duplicate.  Every time I merge I keep spawning new leads.  I am wondering what setting in SFDC could be causing this hiccup?  Thoughts?
