Responsive Design in Email

Some of our leads in Gmail on a desktop (when their Gchat or a plugin is on the right side of the screen), the right part of the email is getting cut-off. Is there any quick fix I can make to prevent this from happening or will the user just have to make their screen smaller?

Also, when I view on mobile, there's a huge gap at the top - below the "View as a Web Page" link and above the banner. Any solutions?

Removing the "View as Web Page" link at the top of the email caused the email to appear normal on mobile. Seems like this could be a bug?
