Reporting leads in each specific "Wait" step in a Smart Campaign?

Is there a way to identify the aggregate number or the specific leads at each "Wait" step in a Smart Campaign? I can't seem to find anything other than the total number of leads currently in a Wait step somewhere in a given Smart Campaign.

seems like this is solved/simplified by using the engagment engine...

ahh, so it's built-in with Engagement programs...cool. Thx Mark.

I still see value in observing the flow of leads through "Wait" steps in the older Smart Campaign.  Reason in one specific instance is that when I deactivate a Smart Campaign, I still want to monitor the flow of people who entered the Campaign through the various steps in the campaign. That way, I both QA the functioning of steps in the now deactivated campaign, and know with confidence when everyone in it will exit.

Is there a somewhat straight-forward way to "instrument" a Smart Campaign to behave that way?
