Report number mismatch..

So I have a web page activity report..It is giving different numbers according to the time frame set?
For example: If I pull the report for a single date it shows a different number from that of the consolidated report of that month for the same day.

Like if  I pull the report for March 5 and 6 individually then the total numbera are  lets say 18 and 20  but if I set the time frame in the report  set-up as Mar 5- Mar 6 then it gives a different number say 35 and not 38 ...

I did some analysis on the same,  I pulled out the web page activity report for a month and then I pulled  the same report for each day of the month.

And  I found that for some days (individual day report) the total no. of  records is more than what it shows up on the consolidated report ( some records missing ) for the month..has anyone else faced similar issue?
