Somtimes it says "Image Replaced" but the preview of the image still looks like the old image. Could that be the case for you? Did you try refreshing your browser or visiting the image's URL directly to see if it updated?
true - but i'm highly reluctant to do that as it seems to also clear all my form pre-poulated info and logins/passwords. I cannot deselect these options in web tools (corporate restrictions). So clearing caches is a real hassle for me. But yes, good to have options for workarounds :)

I've run into this so many times now, but today I've cleared my cache, logged out, quit my browser... nothing works. When I browse for the images the correct versions show, but when you add them it's still the old version. It's been about 15 mintues now.
Why is something so unbelievably simple this buggy?
I don't like clearing my cache either, so I use Google Chrome Incognito. Just open Chrome and it's Shift-Command-N (on a Mac, not sure what it is on a PC). Incognito is also very useful for testing forms that use progressive profiling, pre-filled fields or visibility rules.

I still have this issue and so far, no fixes. People keep saying it's a browser issue but I don't think it is - or, if it is, then it's a browser/Marketo compatibility issue.... Anyway, I've had this issue since day one. Clearing caches is not practical for me - and I cannot run in Incognito mode (corporate security settings). So I am pretty much stuck and just cross my fingers every time I have the issue. I usually just end up deleting the original image and reuploading the new one fresh from scratch... ** sigh **

I spend a lot of time messing around with images that won't upload, and have to make a differently-named version fairly frequently...almost every time in fact...to update an image I'm using in an email or on a landing page. It's really a chronic problem! And I agree, cache clearning is not a good solution.
