Dear Marketo Community,

We are looking for a solution for this particular scenario, please:

Is there any way for us to strip out the cookie when an email is being forwarded?

Any suggestions or recommendations on this topic will be fantastic!

Thanks a lot!

There‘s no cookie in an email.

I assume you mean when a URL is rewritten to bounce off the branding domain (to enable Clicked Email activity tracking) and also has the mkt_tok query param added (to enable Munchkin tracking).

You can’t control the value of a URL, or really any part of the email body, when an email is forwarded. The contents of the forwarded email are entirely up to the mail client & end user, and (sort of obviously!) when the end user clicks the Forward button and doesn’t deliberately edit the body, they intend to include the links.
