Removing Salesforce Types on Marketo Leads to Merge data

We have moved from Salesforce to NetSuite and as such will be turning off the Salesforce Syncronization.

This is easy done what i need to do is remove the Salesforce types on the Marketo leads so I can merge Data.

We have Duplication in Salesforce across person account Contact and lead. and even though this data with no requirement to still be in Saleforce and removed from sales force still can not be merged

Is this possible?

Hi Craig,

I suspect merging the leads after stopping the instances would not be working because Marketo will try to propagate the sync to SFDC and an error will be raised.

The solution would be probably to merge them in SFDC before stopping the sync.

Once you disconnect SFDC, any remaining data in Marketo like SFDC Type will no longer matter to SFDC or Marketo. It should just be another field. If the sync is OFF, Marketo should not attempt a sync to SFDC.

I would discuss this with support, but this should be easy to just erase once the sync is off: CDV: SFDC Type=NULL.

I do wonder if the Contact to Account mapping may be an issue somewhere deep in the bowels of the schema.
