Question Marks appear in HTML Email instead of text

Hoping someone may have an explanation as to why an HTML email would display question marks instead of the text in an email. Kindly reference the attached image.

This looks like it could be some sort of unicode issue. Are you copying and pasting into your email or using a non-standard font?

Is it doing this in the Sample or the Preview?


I agree there's a display error, but is it in your browser or at the code level? Are you intending to use non Western Characters?

The first question what language are you trying to write this in? Second question is the HTML formatted in UTF-8 or ANSI? Final question are you using any special characters like Asterisk (star) or pound (number sign, or hashtag)?
